The Great Latton Bake Off

During the Covid 19 closure, the children had the task of creating some delicious treats for the Great Latton Bake Off. Here are some of the goodies they made. Yum!

Confirmation

6th Class were due to make their Confirmation on Wednesday 13th May. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, their Confirmation had to be postponed.
Nevertheless, they got dressed up and had some of their own celebrations at home with their families.
Happy Confirmation Day 6th Class!

Sixth Class have been busy preparing for their Confirmation. They have chosen a name which means something special to them and we have displayed them in our classroom. We have been doing lots of work on what Confirmation is about. The children have been learning about the Seven Sacraments, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. They have been learning the prayer - Come Holy Spirit.

St. Brigid's Day 2020

6th Class made St. Brigid's Day crosses on 1st February 2020.

World Book Day March 5th 2020

These guys are a really creative bunch! We had great fun dressing up for World Book Day this year featuring lots of our favourite book characters like Katniss Everdeen, Miss Honey, Willy Wonka, Dorothy, Where's Wally, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Captain Underpants, Harry Potter, Scooby Doo and many more!

Science Experiments

We did various different science experiments during the year but the children really enjoyed this one. They were given a task to build a car using only a few things - toilet roll holder, some pencils, rubber bands and a balloon. When our cars were ready, we had a class race!

Physical Education

Gymnastics

6th class did gymnastics with the fantastic team at LA gymnastics, Killeevan during November and December. They came to our school every Wednesday and the children even had gymnastics homework to do each night!

They had to practise these stretches and by the end of the 7 weeks, they were super flexible!

Hurling Blitz 21/01/2020

All classes received coaching in hurling with Damien from Monaghan GAA.
6th class attended a fun, indoor hurling blitz on 21st January. We really enjoyed it. Thanks for a great day Monaghan GAA!

Dance

We were so lucky to have local Dance Maestro Aoife Mc Cabe visit our class for some dancing lessons.
We learned how to jive and learned sean nós and set dancing steps also.
Thanks for all your help Aoife, we had so much fun!

Our trip to Íontas

We travelled to Íontas to see Our Lady's Secondary School musical 'Loserville'.

Halloween Fun

On the day of the holidays, we all dressed up and had lots of fun playing Halloween games. We played 'Pin the Smile on the Skeleton' and did apple bobbing.
Everyone was very creative with their costumes this year. We had the Spice Girls and their full entourage, Minecraft characters, scary pumpkins, a dead cowboy, Ozzy Osborne, Alan from The Hangover, a scary buffet, 2 snails and even our County Champion Captain Mr. Greenan!
